KEPAKY began its involvement in the field of Autism in 2010, by fully creating and equipping a Model Center for Employment, Care, and Therapy in Limassol. This center offers specially designed equipment for sensory integration methods, which can benefit individuals with autism, cerebral palsy, and premature infants.
Since October 2010, the operation of the center has been handed over to the Cyprus Autism Association, but KEPAKY’s support for the center and families with children on the autism spectrum continues. Observing the significant gap that exists in Cyprus regarding information about legislation, therapies, and other rights for individuals with autism, in 2011 KEPAKY took the initiative to create a Practical Guide for Individuals with Autism, which is periodically updated to include the latest developments in the field.
The total cost of this program has exceeded €100,000.
