Andreas Sofocleous is a prominent figure in Cyprus – a lawyer, entrepreneur, and former president of AEL Football Club, which he led for nearly 15 years. Since 2008, he has been the founder of KEPAKY (Centre for the Provision of Social Services), an organization with deep and lasting social impact.
Born into a working-class, rural family with strong values of social responsibility and solidarity, he was raised with core principles: ethical integrity, love for one’s fellow human being, respect, and a constant commitment to equal rights.
Upon achieving financial stability, he established KEPAKY with the primary goal of supporting students through financial aid. Over time, his mission expanded to include support for schools, athletes, his hometown Pelendri, individuals with disabilities, environmental protection, and various other social initiatives.
One of his most significant contributions is the creation of the “Yellow Line” program, which, since the onset of the 2020 pandemic, has distributed thousands of food packages to vulnerable citizens across Cyprus. Equally impactful is his support for families affected by war, the establishment of a nursery school, and the implementation of educational and economic integration programs for Ukrainian refugees. All of these initiatives have been made possible thanks to the valuable collaboration of friends, volunteers, and members of KEPAKY’s Board of Directors.
Andreas Sofocleous studied law in the Soviet Union, where he graduated with distinction. He is the founder and managing partner of ANDREAS SOFOCLEOUS & CO. (est. 14/03/19), a law firm that evolved into ANDREAS M. SOFOCLEOUS & CO. LLC.
